한국에는 시간을 넘어 사랑받는 음악, 트로트가 있습니다. 좀 올드하다고요? 외국인의 눈으로 만나본 트로트의 ‘진짜 가치’를 만나보시죠.

[인터뷰 1 : 모로코]

“Where are you from?”

“어디서 오셨나요?”

“From Morocco”

“모로코에서 왔어요.”

“I’m going to sing a song for you Please tell me how it is.”

“노래 하나 들려드릴건데 들어보고 어떤지 말씀해주세요.”

“It’s very nice. It’s like a ballad”

“아주 좋네요, 발라드 같아요.”

“This is a trot K-Old Pop. What do you think of it after hearing it?”

“이건 트로트, K-올드 팝이에요. 들어보니 어때요?”

“I think it’s unique. It’s very nice. I used to know a little bit of trot music a long time ago. It’s very unique. It’s very nice”

“독특한데, 정말 멋져요. 예전에도 트로트를 조금 들어봤었는데 돋보적이에요. 멋져요.”

“His name is Im hero. Recently, trot singers are singing a lot of young singers,  How does this singer look?”

“가수는 임영웅이에요. 최근엔 트로트를 젊은 가수들도 많이 부르고 있는데 이 가수는 어때 보이나요?”

“Very talented. He has a really nice voice. He’s very handsome. Oh, he’s very nice”

“재능이 엄청나네요. 정말 멋진 목소리를 가지고 있어요. 그리고 잘생겼네요. 나이스해요.”

“What’s old pop like in your country?”

“당신 나라의 올드 팝은 어떤가요?”

“Boring, I don’t like it. my parents did enjoy it, But me, not really I don’t like it.”

“사실 지루해서 저는 좋아하지 않아요. 부모님은 즐기셨지만 저는 뭐 썩.”

[인터뷰 2 : 미국]

“Where are you from?”

“어디서 오셨어요?”

“Your dreams? USA.”

“당신의 꿈 속? 미국이요.”

“This is trot, sometimes called K-old pop”

“K-올드팝, 트로트예요”

“It’s so beautiful, it almost brought me to tears. I could feel the emotion throughout my whole body. She has a beautiful voice She’s skilled at her craft.”

“너무 멋진데요. 거의 눈물이 날 뻔했어요. 내 온몸에서 감정이 휘몰아치는 느낌이랄까요. 목소리가 정말 아름답고 노래 스킬이 남다르네요.”

“What’s old pop like in USA?”

“미국의 올드 팝은 어떤가요?”

“I like Michael Jackson Bon Jovi is not my style. Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of electronic music and I like rock and roll, metal”

“마이클 잭슨은 좋아하는데 본 조비는 제 스타일이 아녜요. 최근에 자주 듣는건 오히려 일렉트로닉 음악과 록과 메탈 음악이에요.”

“Can I ask your age?”

“혹시 나이가 어떻게 되실까요?”

“How old do I look?”

“몇 살 같아요?”

“Let’s leave it at that”

“여기까지.”

[인터뷰 3 : 중국]

“Where are you from?”

“어디서 오셨어요?”

“China”

“중국이요.”

“Sounds like Indian”

“인디안 노래 같은데.”

“Indian?”

“인디안이요?”

“I think she may be from India”

“인도 출신은 아닌거죠?”

“How about her voice or melody?”

“목소리나 멜로디는 어때요?”

“I must tell the truth I don’t like it”

“정말 솔직히 말하면 잘 모르겠네요.”

“Song Ga-in. He looks like a successful woman, I like red.”

“송가인? 성공한 여성처럼 입고 있네요. 빨간색 드레스!”

“Sounds like Jay Chou. In Chinese, he is ‘주걸륜’, famous and popular. Maybe every Chinese people like him.”

“중국의 제이 조 노래랑 비슷해요. 중국어로 그는 ‘주걸륜’인데 유명하고 인기가 많아요. 아마 모든 중국 사람들이 그를 좋아할 거예요.”

[인터뷰 4 : 스위스]

“Where are you from?”

“어디서 오셨어요?”

“Zürich”

“취리히(스위스)”

“How about it?”

“어때요?”

“That’s a trot?”

“이게 트로트죠?”

“Yes”

“네”

“It kind of reminds me of some folk music back home. So it’s kind of similar in terms rhythm but I didn’t really catch what it was saying I mean it’s kind of not unfamiliar. entertaining kind of a good voice and if you hear the song in the background it would be okay.”

“노래를 들으니 고향의 포크 음악이 떠올라요. 리듬이 비슷해요. 가사 내용은 알 수 없지만요. 어쨌든 낯설지만은 않아요. 재능이 확실한 목소리네요. 주변에서 이 노래가 들린다면 좋을 거 같아요.”

“in your country do people of all ages enjoy it like in korea while is it still something mainly the older generation?”

“스위스에서는 올드팝을 모든 연령대가 즐기나요? 아니면 주로 노년층이 즐기는 건가요?”

“that’s a good question. mainly for the older generation i would say so it’s something every once in a while.”

“좋은 질문이네요. 주로 노년층을 위한 거죠. 근데 모두가 한번씩 듣기는 해요.”

[인터뷰 5 : 런던]

“where are you from?”

“어디서 오셨어요?”

“london”

“런던이요.”

“like music like very good singers. so it’s like makes you kind of sad. but yeah it’s nice it’s nice i feel like you need to have skill to do to do it. not everyone can do it.”

“멋진 가수네요. 살짝 서글픈 노래예요. 하지만 정말 좋고 노래 스킬이 엄청나요. 아무나 따라할 수 없을 노래예요.”

“so yeah i think it’s for all ages oh yeah queen yeah yeah a lot of like um like young people listen to queen. queen’s for all ages definitely beatles.”

“영국의 올드팝은 모두가 들어요. 특히 퀸(Queen)은 정말 많은 젊은 사람들이 들어요. 퀸도 그렇고 비틀즈도 그렇죠.”

“Can you recommend your favorite old song?”

“가장 좋아하는 올드 팝은?”

“Queen.”

“퀸이죠.”

“Bohemian Rhapsody?”

“보헤미안 랩소디?”

“That one.”

“정확해요.”

[인터뷰 6 : 네덜란드]

“Where are you from?”

“어디서 오셨나요?”

“Netherlands”

“네덜란드요.”

“I was thinking a bit about Arabian music for some reason. So not Western melody So it sounds a little bit like Middle East singing”

“아라비아 음악과 조금 닮았네요. 일단 서양의 멜로디는 아니예요. 듣다보니 약간 중동 느낌도 나고요.”

“I have to listen more to.”

“좀 더 들어보고 싶은데.”

“You want more?”

“더 들려드릴까요?”

(정지화면 아닙니다.)

“music so not very Western. but I like the the sound of the voice even a little bit classic like also a little bit Chinese.”

“확실히 서양적인 노래는 아니네요. 하지만 목소리가 정말 좋고 클래식 같은 느낌도 드는데 조금 중국적인 느낌도 있네요.”

“Older people, they listen to music like blues music Blues. Country, rock and roll Or they listen to traditional Dutch singing and there’s also, they always sing like.”

“네덜란드에서 나이 많은 사람들은 블루스 음악 같은걸 듣죠. 컨트리 노래나 록앤롤. 전통적인 네덜란드 노래들을 듣고 노래도 항상 이런 식이죠.”

“That’s traditional Dutch singing”

“(노래한다)이게 네덜란드 전통 스타일.”
