Premiering on November 6, the Tving original “Dear X” tells the story of Baek A-jin (Kim You-jung), a woman who hides behind a mask to escape hell and climb to the top, and the “X”s she ruthlessly tramples on along the way. Beneath her flawless beauty lies a brutal nature that drives a dark, destructive love story with Yoon Jun-seo (Kim Young-dae), who chooses hell itself to protect her.
Based on the globally popular webtoon of the same name, “Dear X” follows the success of Tving’s previous webtoon-based originals such as “Yumi’s Cells,” “Work Later, Drink Now,” “The Pyramid Game,” and “Study Group.” Each title has proven the strong synergy between webtoon storytelling and live-action adaptation.
Directed by Lee Eung-bok — known for mega-hits like “Sweet Home,” “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,” “Mr. Sunshine,” and “Descendants of the Sun” — the series is co-helmed by director Park So-hyun and writer Choi Ja-won, alongside the original webtoon creator Ban Ji-woon. The cast also includes Kim Young-dae, Kim Do-hoon, and Lee Yeol-eum, heightening anticipation.
Tving commented, “Dear X will push the boundaries of webtoon-based drama with its powerful narrative, distinctive characters, and cinematic storytelling.”
“Dear X” will premiere with episodes 1–4 on Tving at 6 p.m. KST on November 6.
